Learning Experience Designer
Systems Designer Informed by K-12 Education, Instructional Design, and UX

Blending Education & Innovation
I design learning and experience systems that combine education, instructional design, and UX to create thoughtful, adaptable, and effective solutions. My work focuses on understanding how all parts of a project connect, from learner and user needs to interaction design, instructional frameworks, assessment systems, data analysis, and continuous improvement strategies.
With a background in education and experience across instructional design, UX, research, and systems planning, I approach projects strategically and contribute throughout multiple stages of the development process to create experiences that are engaging, scalable, and grounded in real-world application.

From Education to Experience Systems Design
My transition from education into learning systems and experience design developed naturally through years of designing instruction, analyzing learner performance, and improving systems to better support growth and engagement. As both an elementary and secondary math educator, I became increasingly interested not only in teaching content, but in understanding how curriculum, technology, assessment, communication, and user experience work together to shape learning outcomes. Over time, I found myself drawn toward the larger systems behind learning experiences and the strategic decisions that influence how people interact with information, products, and instructional environments.
That interest led me to expand into instructional design and UX, where I could combine my background in education with systems thinking, research, and design strategy. My work now focuses on building cohesive learning and experience systems that integrate learner and user needs, interaction design, assessment frameworks, data analysis, and continuous improvement processes. Rather than viewing education, instructional design, and UX as separate disciplines, I approach them as interconnected parts of creating experiences that are thoughtful, adaptable, and effective for the people using them.
The Disciplines Behind My Design

Classroom Experience
My background in education gives me a strong understanding of how people learn, engage, and grow across different environments and ability levels.
Teaching in in-person, virtual, and asynchronous settings taught me how to adapt instruction, analyze performance data, and design experiences that support clarity, engagement, and measurable outcomes.

User Experience
UX design expanded the way I think about interaction, usability, and the relationship between people and systems.
Through user research, accessibility principles, prototyping, and iterative testing, I design digital experiences that are intuitive, purposeful, and easy to navigate while considering how users move through and interact with an experience as a whole.

Instructional Design
Instructional design strengthened my ability to think systematically about learning, performance, and continuous improvement.
Through needs assessments, learning analysis, and frameworks such as ADDIE and SAM, I design experiences that intentionally align objectives, interaction, assessment, and outcomes to create solutions that are both effective and adaptable.
Where Education, Instructional Design, UX, & Systems-Thinking Connect
My background in education, instructional design, and UX allows me to approach projects from multiple perspectives while keeping the entire system connected and intentional. Education gave me a deep understanding of how people learn, communicate, and engage across different environments. Instructional design strengthened my ability to build structured and measurable learning experiences. And, UX expanded the way I think about interaction, usability, and user behavior. Together, these areas of focus help me design systems that are thoughtful, adaptable, and effective by considering not only the content itself, but also how users move through, interact with, and grow within an experience over time.
